Hey remember that one piece I kept posting WIPs about and saying “it’s almost done”? well now it’s actually done!! I know, I don’t believe it either!!
without further ado, here’s Hat Kid and a special guest, Kirby!
This is my first full and finished digital piece, and I think I learned a lot from it! There’s a lot of stuff I really wish I could have done better, but hey it’s finally finished and that’s all that matters to me at this point lmao

Anonymous asked: Hello. Tired Penguin here. You've done so well with the micro stories, even with school like you said. Toko and Baz are both precious, and I love those two beans. I think it's very admirable that your still striving to improve your writing. I've also wanted to work on my writing skill, and you're very inspiring as someone else who's in the progress of writing a story. Good luck with academics, and being happy, and life in general.
Hey there, Tired Penguin! I’m glad you enjoyed those micro stories because I certainly enjoyed writing them! They gave me an opportunity de-stress and relax, and I had so much fun brainstorming silly/heartfelt scenarios based on the suggested prompts. I can’t express how happy it makes me that you like my alien beans!
Gosh, thank you so much! I never thought I’d inspire someone else, but I’m humbled that my characters and stories resonate with you in such a significant way. As most artists, I’m always trying to improve. I’ve come to realize that improvement can be a slow process and that it’s extremely easy to get discouraged. I constantly wonder if I’ll ever be content in my ability. But it’s important to celebrate the little victories! Just take one step at a time, and don’t be too hard on yourself c:
I think it’s great that you want to improve your writing skills! I actually read the snippet you submitted to teenytinyhatkid’s blog, and it was absolutely wonderful! As someone who’s also trying to improve as a writer, I encourage you to keep writing. Experiment with different writing styles, try writing from different points of view, and most importantly - write about things you enjoy! Writing can be tough, but it’s so rewarding.
Thank you for this kind message, and the same goes for you <3
(Also, I should mention that I stilL ADORE your drawing of Toko! Thank you for drawing her!!!)

Anonymous asked: I love how you write the inner thoughts of characters, and how they internally and externally react to situations. Your writing is beautiful.
Thank you so much anon, I don’t even know what to say ;__;
It’s taken me a long time to reach this point as a writer, and I’m still not very confident in my writing ability. But I’m extremely grateful for people like you who appreciate the time, effort, and thought that goes into creating each story!
As an artist, I not only want readers to see a character’s reaction, but to understand how they feel as well. In real life, action and reaction are more than what we see on the surface. I think getting into a character’s head/heart are great ways to make them relatable and enjoyable to read!
Anonymous asked: Poor Toko just wants her fruit. Also, beautifully clever alien fruit names!
Haha, don’t worry - Toko eats plenty of fruit on a regular basis. It was only when Gerdie realized Baz wasn’t monitoring her eating habits that it became a problem (he’s still learning how to be a good dad).
And thank you! Creating fake fruit names is always fun. The hard part is making sure I don’t accidentally ‘create’ words that already exist, which happens more often than you’d think!
